ADRENALINE ECSTATIC

Adrenaline Thoroughbred Syndications bought this colt out of Book Two at the Magic Millions sale in January, before Daumier gave his sire Epaulette a top line juvenile Gr.1 winner in the Melbourne Racing Club’s Blue Diamond (1200 m.) at Caulfield on Saturday, February 26th.

Adrenaline said they “couldn’t go past this colt from the “Joy family” hailing from one of the nicest female lines in the Australian Stud Book”.  Noting the colt was a strong and balanced with a great action from the Gr.1 Golden Rose and Gr.1 Doomben 10,000 winner Epaulette.

Epaulette is a son of Commands, a Danehill full brother to Champion 3yo Danewin. A star in the breeding barn Commands sired 13-Group 1 winners including champion mare Melody Belle, other high-class winners are Appearance, Purple, Undue, Russeting, Commanding Jewel, Paratroopers, Manuel and Holler.

Epaulette has been well represented by 17-stakes winners including the big race winners Soqrat (a triple Gr.1 winner in South Africa) and Red Lark (Del Mar Oaks).  Another 15 of Epaulette's progeny are stakes placed whilst another 56 are metropolitan winners - meaning that an impressive 32% of his winners are at least city class!

This handsome colt is the first foal produced by Gerry Harvey's lightly raced mare Ecstatically who was consistent through her 11-start career - winning a 1200m maiden and placing on four occasions. She is well regarded - subsequently visiting Snitzel and Pierata.

Not enough?  Ecstatically (by Winx's high achieving sire Street Cry whose daughters have already produced 105 stakes winners including 17 Gr.1 winners) is one of the six winners produced by the well related Flemington winner World Joy. Also dam of the Gr.3 placed Kumasi, World Joy is a half-sister to the Gr.2 mare Light Up The World (in turn dam of the Gr.3 juvenile World Peace whose son Chivalry is also a Gr.3 winner) and the Listed winner Presenting. Another three of World Joy's half-sisters have produced stakes winners including the multiple Gr.1 winning sprinter/miler Bentley Biscuit and the Gr.1 Stradbroke Handicap winning successful stallion Thorn Park.

Bred at Baramul Stud which has produced the likes of Libertini, Royal Descent and Alligator Blood and Adrenaline's own December Diamond in recent times. Adrenaline Thoroughbreds

Trainer Details

Well-known and respected as a patient and skilled trainer in New Zealand, Paul Jenkins has in recent years made his mark from his Sunshine Coast base, achieving great results with a small team of horses.

Career highlights for Paul include Group One victories for Bazelle (Auckland Cup, Zabeel Classic) and King Keitel (Doomben Cup) whilst current members of his stable include the stakes placed winner Travistee, Adrenaline's five-time winner Renouf in addition to the progressive Doomani.

Patience has been the key with each of these talented racehorses, Paul justifiably proud of the hands' on approach that allows his charges to reach their full potential. "I like to think that we get the best out of them by being careful with them," he said, adding that in regards to stable size "big is not always best!"

Currently happy with his dozen or so horses in work, Paul is hoping to expand a little as boxes
are added to the already first-class training facilities on offer the Sunshine Coast, a track ideally located just over 100km north of Brisbane.

There is a camaraderie amongst the trainers calling the Sunshine Coast home and with expansion on the cards the base's influence is only going to increase - "it will be the jewel in
Queensland racing's crown," Paul said. "The Sunshine Coast Turf Club is extremely well run," he added, "and is only going to go from strength to strength."

Paul is a hands-on trainer who gets great results through this dedication to his horses which suits Adrenaline Thoroughbred Syndications.
