The Thoroughbred Trainers Service Centre (TTSC) is a holder of an ASIC issued AFSL 288-213 it offers a Thoroughbred Racehorse Syndication Service to assist with compliance issues required to be met when shares are offered and advertised for sale, ensuring consumers receive protection, within Australia.
To sell shares in Thoroughbreds and/or charge a management fee to an individual, the prospective owner must receive various declarations, advertisements must display an ASIC issued AFSL as well as an Authorised Representative number, if applicable, no matter the form of advertising, all must be approved by ASIC's nominated Lead Regulator.
The TTSC’s service has been designed to assist interested participants, Trainers or Breeders that wish to operate a professional Syndication business. To do this those individuals must comply with ASIC Corporations (Horse Schemes) Instrument 2016/790, its updated Regulatory Guide (RG) 91, August 2016.
The (Horse Schemes) instrument does offer relief and exemptions to those that wish to offer shares to individuals not known to them. The TTSC ensures all Racing Australia's Australian Rules of Racing are met and each offer is approved by one of ASIC’s appointed Lead Regulators* along with any of their policies that may be required Australia wide.
Therefore if you wish to sell shares in a Thoroughbred to people that are not known to you, advertise shares in that Thoroughbred (and/or) charge a management fee the TTSC’s Racehorse Syndication service can assist you.
The TTSC is an Approved Promoter on all Principal Racing Authorities registers we perform the function of Promoter on behalf of the Seller and/or the Authorised Representative. The Authorised Representative or the TTSC collect ‘know your client’ profiles in forming each Horse Racing Syndicate.
Each Horse Racing Syndicate, is operated as a managed scheme which has the purpose of racing one or more thoroughbreds. Each Horse Racing Scheme can accommodate no more than 50 participants where the overall value will not exceed $500,000.00 (inc GST).
