This filly is going to Paul Jenkins, who is now based in Queensland, who selected the bay from Book One at the Karaka sale in January as Jenkins was looking for some quality bloodstock supplied by vendors he trusts, from families he knows that have been raised in some of the finest pastures in the world, with a proven record of developing sound racehorses.

By Iffraaj, a stallion with 10 individual Group 1 winners that include Turn Me Loose (winner of seven races with feature victories in the 2014 CJC Group 1 2000 Guineas (NZ), 2015 Seymour Cup (LR); MVRC Crystal Mile (G2 (wfa)) plus the VRC Group 1 Emirates (registered name: Cantala) Stakes and the 2016 Group 1 MRC Futurity Stakes in 2016; Chriselliam a US Breeders Cup winning filly; Gingernuts (2017 Rosehill Guineas, NZ Derby and the Windsor Park Stakes (wfa)) and Jungle Cat a tough galloper that won at the elite level in Dubai as well as in Australia.

Not Enough?  This filly’s is out of a multiple winner by More Than Ready and is a daughter of Insouciant, winner of the 2007 Group 1 NZ 1000 Guineas plus the Group 3  Eulogy Stakes, both races over 1600 m., crowned New Zealand Bloodstock filly of the year that remains with her breeder Pencarrow Stud a business that has produced champion gallopers Ethereal (Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup) plus Darci Brahma (Champion Sire and Group 1 winner at two, three and four-years-old).

Adrenaline Thoroughbreds

Well known and respected as a patient and skilled trainer in New Zealand, Paul Jenkins has in recent years made his mark from his Sunshine Coast base, achieving great results with a small team of horses.

Career highlights for Paul include Group One victories for Bazelle (Auckland Cup, Zabeel Classic) and King Keitel (Doomben Cup) whilst current members of his stable include the stakes placed winner Travistee, the exciting Picka Plum (winner of five in a row last winter/spring) and the consistent Love Squirrels who between them have won 16 races.

Patience has been the key with each of these talented horses, Paul justifiably proud of the hands-on approach that allows his charges to reach their full potential.

I like to think that we get the best out of them by being careful with them,” he said, adding that in regards to stable size “big is not always best!

Currently happy with his half a dozen or so horses in work, Paul is hoping to expand a little as boxes are added to the already first class training facilities on offer the Sunshine Coast, a track ideally located just over 100km north of Brisbane… currently home to star three-year-old Alligator Blood.

There is a camaraderie amongst the trainers calling the Sunshine Coast home and with expansion on the cards the base’s influence is only going to increase – “it will be the jewel in Queensland racing’s crown,” Paul said.
The Sunshine Coast Turf Club is extremely well run,” he added, “and is only going to go from strength to strength.

Paul is a hands-on trainer whose 20% strike rate over the last 12 months shows his dedication to placing his horses to the best of advantage
