ADRENALINE’S BOOMING SPIRIT
Once again, the TTSC’s Authorised Representative Adrenaline Thoroughbreds are pleased to offer an opportunity to buy into an athletic son by Spirit of Boom. This colt is one of the nicer colts offered by Eureka Stud and is ‘put together very well’ despite being foaled at the later end of the season. He will develop into the future.
Spirit of Boom is the sire of Adrenaline’s own Prince of Boom (four wins and more than $560,000 in earnings) and most Gr. 1 winner Jonker (MVRC Manikato Stakes). So far, the 2021/22 racing season the son of Sequalo has four stakes’ winners, two stakes’ placegetters among the 107 individual winners that have collected more than $6.9million (as of April 28th, 2022). The writing is on the wall for Spirit of Boom and Adrenaline think that it will be mares with families like Matinee will help take the horse there.
Matinee is a daughter of Golden Slipper winner and Champion sire, Flying Spur, who showed exceptionally good ability on the track – the stable thought enough of her to compete at group level. A half-sister to Group 2 winner Staging (by Success Express) who went on to produce Gr. 1 winning stallions Duporth (by Red Ransom) and Excites (by Danewin), along with Gr.2 winner Tickets (by Redoute’s Choice) and it’s the family of South African Champion juvenile Delago Deluxe (by Encosta de Lago). It is a high-quality family!
Not Enough? The colt bred by Eureka Stud who have produced top class horses on the Australian tracks for generations with the likes of Pippie, Temple of Boom, Apache Chase, Finance Tycoon and Tinto all raised on this famous black soil country on the Darling Downs.
The colt is nominated for Racing Queensland’s valuable QTIS bonus scheme as well as the 2023 Magic Millions race series.
The horse racing syndicate will be managed by Adrenaline Thoroughbred Syndications.
When it comes to training racehorses horses in Brisbane you arguably won’t find more solid ground than placing your thoroughbred under the care of Rob Heathcote. Rob has trained horses for more than-20 years, building a treasure chest of experience to draw on and a pile of trophies to go with it.
Rob spent much of his early working life running tours around the landmarks in Europe where we’re sure he must have fine-tuned the craft of ensuring people are shown good time. For years Adrenaline have been impressed watching Rob before races and after a win, always behind a camera ensuring his ownership group have snap of the big day.
Through the mid 90’s Rob managed a team of horses raced by his brother in leading stables through Australia and New Zealand. In 1997, he took the plunge and opened his own training stable. Adrenaline remembers articles in the media at the time describing his steep learning curve and telling how he was studying everything he could find on getting the best from horse through fitness, feed and soundness. These days Rob could probably write the book!
In his first year with limited opportunities he finishing sixth on the premiership. His big gamble and good horsemanship has been paying off ever since. He’s won the Brisbane metropolitan trainers premiership six times, trained more than 1,100 winners and named Queensland trainer of the year on several occasions.
Rob has prepared top line horses such as Solzhenitsyn and Woorim to win at Group 1 level but is probably best known as the trainer of seven time Group 1 winner and the peoples champion, Buffering. Adrenaline are impressed by Rob’s ability to develop what are often less fashionable horses from the lower end of the market to race against, and beat the best. Heathcote also has an uncanny knack of bringing horses back to perform at their best, preparation after preparation, racing at a high level and enjoying long careers.
Adrenaline are very happy having Rob join our team of trainers, tapping into his skills to develop your horse to be the best athlete it can.
