2YO Colt by Zeditave - Whiz Bang Lady
By Zeditave (ex Summoned by Crowned Prince), a champion during his classic year and retired to his new career with 14 wins on his resume' with victories in the Group 1 Lightning, William Reid, Castlemaine, Blue Diamond and Futurity Stakes. This colt is a chestnut like just like his sire and hails from the last crop of foals.
Zeditave by The Judge hails from the famous Showdown line who gave us the memorable performers like Dual Choice, Tontonan, Toy Show and Kapalaran.
During his career off the track Zeditave has sired 36 stakes winners, from 671 horses to race with 471 individual winners, that's a 70% winners to runners ratio. His progeny have earned more than $37million, and his is responsible for performers in the ilk of Assertive Lad and his full-sister Assertive Lass, Zeditave is also the damsire of Group One winner and young sire Reset.
Comparing photographs of Zeditave to this colt suggest that he possess some of his sires' best qualities with a good sized shoulder and hindquarter!
Zeditave died in 2010 and his winners keep rolling in and Zedi Knight (ex Sly Sandra) recently chalked up the stallions' latest black type success when taking out the Listed Hareeba Stakes (1200m) at Mornington.
Australian breeders may have lost one of its enduring sires when Newhaven Park Stud made the tough decision to deliver euthanasia after suffering a serious colic attack at the farm, near Yass in NSW, but his legacy remains, through his sire sons.
This colt has been broken-in, and his trainer Heath Conners, selected him at the Tasmanian Magic Millions yearling sale earlier this year. Out of Whiz Bang Lady, who didn't make it to the track, her progeny have.
With Queen Of Asia (by Beautiful Crown) the winner of four races and A Touch Of Frost (by Freeze) a winner of three. Hailing from a family that's produced many winners including the top class, Sword (by Switch In Time), a winner of 12 races who saluted at the highest level when he chalked-up a memorable victory in the Group 1 Goodwood Handicap.
The family has also produced another good performer in Belong To Many, also a chestnut. A bonnie mare by Belong to Me that always gave her all she was raced by a very large syndicate and gave them many thrills.
Belong To Many notched up wins in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at Randwick and the Silk Stocking Handicap at the Gold Coast and has since retired from the track and produced filly by More Than Ready.
