Dyer to Light Up Law
3YO Laws of Light Ready to Go
Laws of Light is well grown and by young stallion, Lago Delight who during his racing days created an instant impression with racegoers when the son of Encosta de Lago easily won on debut at Flemington over 1000m. At his next start, Lago Delight claimed the Listed Mitchell McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley for his owner, trainer and breeder Jim Marconi.
Marconi, then saddled up Lago Delight in the Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes at Flemington, and, racing for just the third time in his career Lago Delight just failed to grab Scaredee Cat, by a nose, who stopped the clock at 1:08.81 in the now Group 1 sprint!
Lining up against the older horses in the Invitation Stakes at his run Lago Delight finished less than three-lengths from Exceed and Excel (by Danehill), who set a record for the 1400m that day running 1:21.20!
Unfortunately, for the Marconi's illness curtailed Lago Delight's career at the track. But there was no doubt that the young stallion was a gifted animal and breeders have supported him in good numbers covering more than 500 mares. His stock are proving to be reliable and a good percentage are getting to the track and earlier this year Shylight gave him his first stakes winner.
Lago Delight also has stakes placed Palzago amongst his top performers and the metropolitan winners Lisas Lago, Pliers, Tula, Marconi, Blue Light, Jetstyle Express, Zaccarat and Sir Lugano all feature on his progeny record.
Lago Delight is one of three black type performers out of the Group 3 winning Rancho Ruler mare Sweet Delight. A particularly tough dual stakes winner Sweet Delight has really left her mark at stud producing the two-time Listed winner Tycoon Ruler (a young stallion siring winners in Queensland) and the Group1 placed Raffaello.
Not enough? This filly has been broken in by Neil Pfeiffer at Bendigo and is out of the half-sister to the 14-time winner Mantlepiece (by Water Mill), winner of the Group 3 Coongy Handicap, Annie Joy. Although that mare didn't get to the races the daughter of Clear Choice is from a family that has produced plenty of winners.
The family has plenty of diversity too with the likes of Bold Gauntlet (by Red Gauntlet), winner of 14 from 1000m-1400m, Royal Mantle (by Comeram), winner of 14 from 1000m-1800m, Kesia (by Omnicorp), winner of seven (7) from 1350m-2000m, Thorogood (by War Hawk), winner of six (6) from 1200m-1400m. So Annie Joy is looking to add to the families record with her third foal.
