Colour to Light Up Dyer's Yard

2YO filly - Host - Eve Ho

By the first season sire Host, this bay filly is set to join the stable of Neil Dyer, trainer of this year's Darwin Cup Hawks Bay.

Out of a half-sister to Adam (by Rubiton), one of the few horses that beat New Zealand's outstanding mare Sunline (winner of two WS Cox Plates), Eve Ho (by Bianconi) is importantly already the dam of a winner in Abdicated (by Royal Academy).

Adam was a horse in a life time, a $11,000 purchase out of the sales ring, he won the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap and the Group 1 George Main Stakes, and more than $2million for his connections.   Out of Hi De Ho (by Long Row) a half-sister to the stakes winning, Kentish (by One Pound Sterling) and the stakes placegetters Blame (by Famous Star), Donizetti (by Bellissimo), Forbidden Pleasure (dam of the stakes placed Corridor Voices (by Military Plume)), Adam's family has plenty of depth.

It's the family of Hi-Bing (by Just Whistle), winner of 16 and the Group 1 Avondale Gold Cup and his half-brother Young Bing (by Royal Avenue), winner of seven and two Listed events in New Zealand.

This filly, is by Swettenham Stud's young stallion Host (by Hussonet) a dual Grade One winner who began his new career in Australia in 2008.  At the time of his retirement the proprietor of the Victorian farm, Adam Sangster said, “Host is an outstanding addition to our roster he had absolute brilliance from 1000m to 1600m and he met and beat nothing but the best.”  Now that's a wrap!

Host retired to stud duties on a winning note after winning the Group 3 Canadian Turf Handicap (1700m) at Gulfstream Park earlier that year.  During his career on the track the chestnut horse competed at the highest level in Chile, North America and Dubai, winning 10 races and nearly A$1.5m in earnings.

A highlight of Host's racing career in North America was his win in the Grade 1 Shadwell Mile where he defeated other Group One winners Ad Valorem, Three Valleys and Alinghi.
