Light to Excite Dyer

2YO Filly - Excited Light

Excited Light is by the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes winner Dubai Destination (by Kingmambo ex Mysterial) out of the Desert King mare, Bedouin Princess.  A tall bay filly she hails from the family of the sensational sprinter Schillaci (by Salieri) and the Widden Stakes winner Biscarina (by Biscay).

Schillaci  was crowned Champion Sprinter (in 1991 as a three-year-old and again the following year).  Fondly known as the 'grey flash' Schillaci won more than $2million during his career on the track with victories in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes (twice), Oakleigh Plate, Newmarket Handicap, The Galaxy, Futurity Stakes (twice) and the George Ryder Stakes.  He also chalked up wins in the A.J. Moir Stakes,  QTC Cup, Rubiton Stakes (twice) and The Caulfield Sprint.

Excited Light's grandam is the four-time winner, Sardaffe (by Air de France) who in-turn is the dam of the black type earning, Plans (by Strategic) winner of seven races and more than $400,000.  The grandam of Sardaffe is the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner, Forina (by Vibrant) and the dam of Biscarina winner of the Widden Stakes and in-turn the dam of Schillaci.

Plans first foal was a filly by Elvstroem, who has since been named Elofaplan and at her third start the chestnut broke her maiden over 1600m.    The next foal for Plans, another filly by Rock of Gibraltar, unfortunately died soon after birth.   Plans has a yearling colt in her breeders paddocks and a weanling filly by Flying Spur coming through.

Sardaffe is the dam of the handy galloper, Needlebox (by Pins), and is out of Anniversaire (by Bletchingly) a sister to the hardy galloper Ravenstone (ex Forina).
This family received a nice pedigree update when Russeting (Commands - Granny Apple) strode home to victory in the Group 1 Winter Stakes in 2009.  In doing so Russeting beat the high-profile performers Forensics, Danehill Smile and Serious Speed.

The dam of Excited Light, Bedouin Princess has a colt on her this spring by Victoria's leading sire, Bel Esprit.

Not enough?  Excited Light has been broken in by Neil Pfeiffer at Bendigo and although injury curtailed the racetrack career of Dubai Destination, Darley retired him for stud duties in 2004 to the beautiful Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, England.

From five crops of racing age, Dubai Destination has sired seven group / graded stakes winners led by Group 1 Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun, along with another 354 individual winners earning more than $17.2million. In addition, he is the sire of 26 stakes placegetters from 618 runners world-wide.

Just recently in England, Mirror Lake (ex Reflection) chalked up her third stakes win when winning the Gillies Stakes over 2100m.

Dubai Destination currently stands at Glenview Stud in Cork, Ireland, as a dual-purpose sire, showing his stock can stay and sprint.
